2021 Interschool Carnival

We had a wonderful day at Steel Blue Oval for our Interschool Athletics Carnival on the last Wednesday of term. The competition was tight and fierce all day, but the level of sportsmanship displayed by all schools in attendance was amazing.

We have now gone back-to-back in bringing home the perpetual shield for the total points. This means we have won five out of the last seven years, which is an outstanding effort.

The final results were as follows:

  • 1st- Maylands Peninsula PS - 2460 points
  • 2nd- Guildford PS - 2121 points
  • 3rd- Eden Hill PS - 1938 points
  • 4th- Bayswater PS - 1648 points
  • 5th- Bassendean PS- 1587 points
  • 6th- Lockridge PS- 1210 points

As with the overall competition, the battle for individual champion honours was extremely tight. Yet again, we had an outstanding result with seven students placedto in the 24 available positions across the six schools represented.  I'd like to acknowledge the following students who placed either as Interschool Champion or Runner Up:

Year 5 Girl Champion- Pippa James

Year 5 Boy Champion- Ethan Stoute

Year 4 Runner Up- Milena Vukovic-Bond

Year 3 Boy Champion- Mitchell Borman

Year 2 Girl Runner Up- Maya Faix

Year 1 Girl Runner Up- Jaya Vos

Year 1 Boy Runner Up- Oisin McCullough

In closing, I'd like to acknowledge the staff who spent many lunch times preparing the team for the carnival, Ms Wyatt as principal carnival organiser, Mr Doney, Miss Wong and Mr Christie for assisting with the team game preparation, and all the parents/caregivers and other family members who attended the carnival to support our team. Hopefully, we can go back-to-back-to-back in 2022.
