Boola Bardip excursion

On Tuesday, S9 went to WA Museum for a Design and Technology Workshop. The guide took us to studio 3 and showed us a PowerPoint about how the museum needs to attract more visitors to objects people do not look at.

Once we made our way to the Origins exhibit, the guide gave us a worksheet and we learnt about three objects: the pre-solar diamond, early footsteps (the first footsteps of the first creature on land) and the orbicular granite. We looked at the objects and identified why they were overlooked and why they were so important.

After this, we returned to the studio and shared our ideas to solve this issue. We then worked in groups of four to brainstorm a solution and designed a prototype of how we could change the exhibit to help the museum attract more visitors to see the importance of each of the three objects. We presented our prototypes to one another and then returned to school.

The experience was fun and interesting, and we learnt lots of new things about the design process.
