Year 6 Camp
We had almost ideal conditions for the Year 6 camp to Dwellingup last week. Even though there was some initial apprehension from the school community about the reduction from five days to three, I am pleased to report that the new format was an overwhelming success.
The students had the opportunity to participate in the eight most popular activities, as too, enjoy the overnight camp experience with friends over the two nights we were away. Furthermore, the energy levels of the students participating in the activities was still reasonably high as we moved into the final day.
Over the course of the camp, the students had the opportunity to ride mountain bikes along bush trails, kayak at Lane Pool Reserve, abseil down a 10m tower, complete a milk crate climb, ride a flying fox, compete in archery tag and take an evening walk through the state forest to name a few of the activities undertaken.
I would like to thank Miss Wyatt for her outstanding organisation and Ms Turvey, Miss Schuhkraft, Miss Sobianina, Mrs Vinciullo and Mr Ani, for giving of their time to accompany the students on camp. Without their support, the camp would not have been possible. I'm certain the students will look back with many fond memories of their camp experience.
